In August, PCA members Christine and Jessica will be heading back to Las Vegas for an exciting conference. They previously attended the Asian American Business Roundtable in January at The Venetian.

This time, they will be taking part in the Asian American Journalists Association’s annual gala at Caesars Palace. This will be the first time Christine will be attending the convention not as a broadcast journalist. She worked as a NBC news reporter prior to joining the PCA team. She has been an active member of AAJA since her freshmen year at UCLA, receiving a scholarship from its LA-chapter and giving back a few years later by leading a panel workshop filled with seasoned journalists at the AAJA Convention in Los Angeles.

This year, AAJA and the National Association of Asian American Professionals are working together to co-host a Presidential Candidate Town Hall meeting at Caesars Palace. This will be the largest convergence of Asian Pacific Islander American professionals in the nation.
Since 2008, the Presidential Candidate Town Hall has served as an avenue for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community to place AAPI issues on the radar of campaigns and the media. “APIAVote is excited to partner with AAJA in bringing our Town Hall to Las Vegas,” said Christine Chen, APIAVote Executive Director. “AAPI voters are still largely untapped by presidential candidates and their parties, even though this population continues to grow.”
