Summer is a busy season filled with Asian tourists coming to the U.S. A CIC Research study for Visit California showed that Chinese topped the overseas visitor market, with almost one million visitors coming to visit the sunshine state in 2014. Nationally, Chinese made up more than 45% of the entire overseas visitor population.

Most of the visitors coming to California are focused on shopping. China Daily reports that travelers in California spent $122.5 billion last year. About 24.4% of the total visitor spending is attributable to international visitors, of which Asian tourists (Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese) make up the majority.
According to the Beverly Hills Visitor Center, more than half of the city’s premier stores have Mandarin-speaking staff and accept China’s Union Pay credit card. Many hotels in Beverly Hills also provide Chinese-style breakfasts and house slippers.
